Full Name: Hadi Al-Sayed | هادي محمد السيد

Hadi Al-Sayed was a Lebanese journalist working for Al-Mayadeen (online).

On 24 September 2024, he died after being wounded in an Israeli airstrike that struck his home in southern Lebanon (reports mention towns in the Tyre/Sour district such as Srifa or Burj Rahal). Hadi Al-Sayyid was taken to a hospital in Sidon for treatment after suffering a head injury and underwent surgery, but he succumbed to injuries sustained the previous day during the strike.

His employer, Al-Mayadeen, announced his death. He was described by colleagues as a dedicated and ambitious journalist committed to resistance media and the Palestinian cause in Gaza, occupied Palestine, and Lebanon. He was also the brother of field reporter Hussein Al-Sayyid, who documents events along the Lebanese-Palestinian border. Media institutions in occupied Palestine mourned his death, praising his work and stating that his killing was part of what they described as a systematic targeting of journalists in Lebanon and Palestine since October 7.

Coverage placed the incident within the broader escalation along the Israel-Lebanon border during the Gaza war period. Journalist organizations later counted him among media workers killed in the conflict period.
